Should Aircraft Meals and Drinks Contain Enzymes to Prevent Radiation Effects of Air Travel?

Recently, in one of our Think Tank discussions, I asked the question; if you had the right enzyme could you prevent radiation sickness? And if so should NASA give this to astronauts, and should the airlines give it to their pilots, stewardesses, and flight crew? Should the military give it to their pilots too? What would happen if we gave it to the sheep in Tierra Del Fuego who are now blinded from sitting under the hole in the Ozone there?

All decent questions, but there may actually be an answer to this and I asked a doctor who was working on such things, what they thought and they said; “Theoretically yes,” and another doctor just said; “Hmm, very interesting,” which I took to mean, that he’d never considered it, but it made sense to him, still, he didn’t have an answer eighter.

Now then, according to Healing Cancer Naturally [dot] com there is a write up titled; “Macrobiotic Diet Against Radiation Sickness,” there is such a thing now available. Of course it is meant for cancer patients mostly, but space radiation would be about similar in many regards, thus, it is a worthy discussion.

Now then the author of that piece there is an interesting book to read on this subject as well; “Light Emerging” where Barbara Brennan states “According to Michio and Aveline Kushi, macrobiotics is very effective in curing radiation sickness. In his book Macrobiotic Diet, Michio Kushi states: ‘At the time of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki in 1945, Tatsuichiro Akizuki, M.D., was director of the Department of Internal Medicine at St. Francis Hospital in Nagasaki.”

So, apparently the induction of specific enzymes in a macrobiotic diet helps against radiation sickness, whether from a cancer treatment or undo radiation exposure – thus, back to the question I originally posed; “Should Aircraft Meals and Drinks Contain Enzymes to Prevent Radiation Effects of Air Travel,” and to that question how about a few others;

1. Should X-ray Patients have a macrobiotic treat 6-hours prior to their x-rays?

2. Should Frequent AirlinerTravelers include macrobiotics in their diet due to TSA Scanners?

3. Should Naval Submariners on Nuclear Subs have such a diet available just in case?

While you are thinking on all this, please feel free to email me if you have any interesting comments. I hope you will consider all this and think on it. This all makes a lot of sense doesn’t it, so maybe more research is due?
